US markets are closed today for the Juneteenth holiday. Traders there went into the holiday in a celebratory mood with the S&P 500 reaching a new all-time high and Nvidia’s* (NVDA) market cap surpassing Microsoft* (MSFT) for the first time.

Currently, US index futures are quiet but positive trading flat to up 0.2%. Over in Asia, Hong Kong soared 2.9%, while Shanghai fell 0.4% and Tokyo rose 0.2%. European trading is mixed this morning with the Dax down 0.1% and the FTSE up 0.2%.

Commodity and currency action is mixed. Copper is bouncing back today with a 1.6% gain, while US Crude Oil is up 0.1% and Natural Gas is down 0.6%. Cryptocurrencies are also on the rebound today with Ether up 4.1% and Bitcoin up 1.4%, while Gold and Silver are steady.

It is a quiet morning for economic news so far. The US NAHB Housing Market Index is due at 10:00 am EDT. Tomorrow the Bank of England is meeting with no rate cut expected.
